Why Wildewood’s Youth Sport Performance Program:
Empowering Female Athletes
Wildewood Health has created an inclusive space for female athletes to excel at their sport, receive proper guidance and support and build lifelong habits of strength and conditioning training. This is a space where female athletes feel comfortable, gain confidence on and off the field and see the benefits of what strength and conditioning can do for an athlete.
Expert Coaching
A previous athlete of UBC Varsity Soccer, our Sport Performance Coach Krista, understands what it takes to excel as a female athlete. Having risen to the top to achieve a national title and captaincy in her 5th year, Krista knows the environment that is needed to rise to the next level and brings consistency, focus, passion and fun to all her programs and sessions.

How the program works:
STEP INTO YOUR FULL Physical POTENTIAL, WITH:
Strength & Conditioning
Your athlete will recieve an individualized strength and conditioning session to do each week.
Injury Prevention
Based on information from our initial assessment, we include a specific section each week for the athlete to focus on injury prevention.
Speed & Agility
Every 4 weeks, the session focuses on speed and agility in semi-private training to ensure athletes are getting stronger, fitter AND faster.
Seminars
Being part of this female community gives your access to various seminars that pop up month to month. Some topics include nutrition, mindset, injury prevention, university recruitment, time management, etc.

We get it – as a parent of an athlete, constant driving around can feel like a full-time job, and adding another thing to the list might not seem worth it. We are here to tell you that being part of the sport performance community at Wildewood Health is different from any other strength session your child has been a part of and absolutely worth it! The semi-private sessions ensure your child received constant coaching and touch points, the female focused atmosphere is sure to build confidence, and the individualized program will have them running laps around other athletes on their team.

Our Approach to Sport Performance Training
The Wildewood Sport Performance exists: to create an inclusive, female-focused space where young female athletes can thrive. Picture this – your athlete leaving a session energized after a sport-specific workout that not only boosted their fitness but also helped prevent injuries. And the best part? We work with athletes in all sports – from soccer to lacrosse, dance, and beyond. Every program is tailored to meet your athlete’s unique needs, sport and position in a positive, empowering environment where they’ll get the attention they deserve to reach their full potential.

Empowering Youth Female Athletes to Thrive in Sport and Beyond
- Individual assessment
- Program builds custom to the athletes’ abilities, goals, sport and position
- Semi-private training (6:1 client to coach ratio) for 12 weeks
- Reassessment to measure progress (week 13)
- Repeat again… and again… and again…

Why Semi-Private Training?
Personalized Coaching with Group Energy
Semi-private training is the performance balance between group and 1:1 support without the high-ticket price. It offers high touch points with the coach, but also the fun and energy of a group environment. In semi-private training, we can also individualize the program to fit the athlete, sport and position, which is something you can’t do in a group setting.

"My teenager has been attending weekly Sport Performance group classes at Wildewood for almost five months now and is continuing to do so. They play competitive soccer and we were looking for a way to improve overall strength and conditioning, as well as injury prevention. We are finding tremendous value in these classes and seeing real, tangible results and improvements in fitness goals. They provide very thorough initial assessments of his fitness using state-of-the-art technology, in terms of strength, speed, agility, etc and then tailor a custom training program for him, which he performs weekly, with their guidance. He is re-assessed after a few months to see his progress and exercises are also adapted to changing needs, injuries, etc. Not only that, but the staff seem to really teach him the proper technique and form for his exercises, which I have personally seen a great improvement in from when we first started, and are consistently getting better. Skills like these are things that will last a lifetime. There are a wide range of options for times we can attend and we find the cost to be quite reasonable! Also, everyone we have met at Wildewood is really so kind and knowledgeable and seems to truly care about what they do and the people they work with. At Wildewood Sport Performance, we know that you want to be a great female athlete. To do that...
You need a sport performance facility that motivates and inspires, while understanding your unique characteristics.
The problem is, most sport performance facilities offer group training, which makes you feel overwhelmed and under appreciated, leaving you with little coaching. Most sport performance facilities also have high masculinity, leaving little to no space for a female athlete to feel comfortable, appreciated and heard. We believe everyone female athletes deserve a facility to excel at their sport.
