Phase 1: Assessment
At Wildewood Health, our Kinesiologists/Athletic Therapists are trained to provide a thorough global and specific assessment. We assess the entire body to see global movement patterns and the specific area of injury. During the global assessment, we assess the whole body, as we want to know how you are moving from a global perspective. During the specific assessment, we assess the area that is injured or in pain. When assessing either globally or specifically, we use our state-of-the-art technology to ensure we obtain objective data. We will then combine our assessment findings to determine an individualized program specific to your needs and goals.
Phase 2: Restore and Education
In the second phase, we restore your stability and movement patterns. We provide education so that you understand your body better and will ensure you receive the tools to help you alleviate pain and discomfort. During this phase, we restore faulty movement patterns and ensure the body functions properly. Lastly, we start building the capacity of stabilizer muscles to support your body in ways that align with your goals. Phase two is about building a solid foundation for movement and exercise.
Phase 3: Progressive Overload
In phase three, we will introduce progressive overload specific to your goals and abilities. This is when you might start working with weights and other tools that challenge your body. This is also the phase we introduce the seven fundamental movements of your body.
Phase 4: Condition
During the final phase, we prepare your body to handle the stress of your physical goal and ensure you no longer experience pain. This is the phase we put the entire program together. When you are discharged, you will have the tools, education, confidence and abilities to continue toward your physical goals, whatever they may be!
